Ramadan 1398H begins on Saturday, 05 August 1978 and runs for 29 days, ending on 02 September 1978. On the first day, Suhoor (Imsak) in Mecca ends at 04:32 and Iftar is at 18:58 Mecca time. By the final day, Iftar shifts to 18:37 as the days change length through the month.

Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal that must finish by Imsak, when the daily fast begins; Iftar is the meal that breaks the fast at sunset (Maghrib).
