Common Use Cases

New Year's Eve Parties: Connect your laptop to a TV or projector and click Fullscreen. The large, high-contrast digits create the perfect centerpiece for your countdown party in the AEDT zone.
Live Streaming: Streamers can use this distraction-free timer as an overlay. The "Black Theme" is easily keyed out or used as a background source. Check out our Free Clock Widgets if you want to embed a clock directly on your own site.
Global Coordination: Coordinate simultaneous events. Since our clock syncs with a central server, everyone sees the exact same second tick down. Verify your synchronization against Unix Time.

New Year Countdown 2028: Questions

How many days until New Year 2028?

The counter at the top of this page answers that live, to the second. It runs down to midnight on 31 December 2027 in your own time zone, so the number you see is the time left where you actually are rather than in some fixed location.

When exactly does the countdown to 2028 end?

At 00:00 on 1 January 2028 local time. Midnight is not a single worldwide moment: Kiribati at UTC+14 gets there first and Baker Island at UTC-12 is last, so New Year 2028 takes about 26 hours to sweep around the planet.

Can I see the New Year 2028 countdown for another time zone?

Yes. Pick any zone from the list further down this page and you get a countdown hard-locked to midnight there, which is what you want when you are counting down with family or colleagues somewhere else.

Is this New Year countdown clock accurate?

It is. The clock synchronises its seconds against our time servers instead of trusting the device clock, so it does not drift even if your computer or phone is running slightly fast or slow.

Can I use this countdown at a party or on a live stream?

That is what the fullscreen button is for. The digits scale to fill a TV or projector, and the dark theme keys out cleanly if you are compositing it into a stream as an overlay.
