Built to Help You Track Time Precisely
If you've ever needed to know the exact time between two dates—whether you're planning time off, calculating deadlines, or just curious about how long something took—this duration calculator makes the math easy. It takes in start and end dates (and times, if you want to get that specific), then gives you the breakdown in multiple formats: total days, hours, minutes, seconds, and even how many business days or weekends are involved.
Pick Your Dates, Get the Details
Simple Inputs, Flexible Options
At the core of this tool are two required fields: a start date and an end date. You can also add start and end times, but they’re optional. If you leave them out, it defaults to midnight.
Once you've got your dates in place, you can fine-tune the calculation with a couple of checkboxes: - Exclude Weekends: Skips Saturdays and Sundays in the count. - Business Days Only: Counts only Monday through Friday. When you check this, the "Exclude Weekends" option will automatically turn on, since weekends don't count as business days.
Need a Quick Range? Use the Presets
Don't feel like setting dates manually? Use the buttons labeled 1 Week, 1 Month, or 1 Year. These will automatically set the start date to today and the end date accordingly. It also resets the time fields to midnight to keep things clean.
What You’ll See in the Results
Everything Broken Down for You
After clicking the “Calculate” button, the results section springs into action. You’ll get: - Total Days, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds between your chosen start and end times. - A Years & Months field that interprets your range more like a calendar would. - A breakdown of Weeks & Days if that’s easier to digest. - Business Days and Weekends, which are especially handy if you're managing work schedules or project timelines.
And yes, all the numbers are formatted with commas for easier reading.
Helpful Extras You Might Miss at First
Current Date and Time Right There
At the bottom corner, there’s a live date and time display that updates every second. It’s a small touch, but it’s useful when you’re working across time zones or trying to match up times precisely.
It Keeps You on Track Automatically
Change any input—whether it's a date, time, or checkbox—and the previous results will clear out. That way, you won’t accidentally look at outdated numbers. And if you choose "Business Days Only," the calculator makes sure "Exclude Weekends" is turned on automatically, so you don’t end up with mixed signals.
Stay On Schedule, Down to the Second
Whether you're prepping for a trip, organizing a project timeline, or just figuring out how long it’s been since a certain date, this tool makes it straightforward. Plug in the details, hit calculate, and get a clear answer across multiple time formats—no spreadsheets or mental math required.
