Set Kind, Encouraging Reminders

If you’ve ever wished your phone could nudge you with the same care a good friend would, the Kind Reminder tool might be just what you need. It's built for more than productivity—this one’s about kindness. Whether it’s a note to breathe, hydrate, or simply remind yourself you’re doing okay, this tool turns your intentions into thoughtful moments throughout the day.

Here’s what it does (and why you might want it)

This isn’t your average alarm. The Kind Reminder tool lets you create personalized, supportive messages that appear right when you need them. You choose what to be reminded of—something like “take a stretch break” or “check in with a friend”—then pair it with an optional note of encouragement, like “You’ve got this” or “Progress is still progress.”

Each reminder is scheduled for a specific date and time and can repeat on a custom schedule (daily, weekly, etc.). You can also dress it up with special features: a daily affirmation, a little celebration message, or a softer "gentle nudge" mode. And yes, it even supports snoozing if you’re not quite ready in the moment.

Getting started is quick and intuitive

1. Add your reminder

Start by typing a short title into the box labeled “What would you like to be reminded of?” This is the main message that’ll pop up later.

2. Make it a little kinder

Use the optional message box to add something compassionate. Think of what you’d say to a friend in your situation—this part is just for you.

3. Pick a time and date

Set exactly when the reminder should show up. By default, it suggests an hour from now, but you can change that to whatever works best.

4. Choose a category

Select from options like Self Care, Motivation, Health, Work Balance, Relationships, or Personal Growth. This sets the visual style and helps organize your reminders.

5. Decide how often it repeats

Use the dropdown to choose if it runs once or on a regular basis—daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

6. Optional features

  • Include daily affirmation: Adds a rotating positive message when your reminder appears.
  • Celebrate small wins: Triggers a mini celebration card with encouraging words.
  • Gentle nudge mode: Uses a softer style in the notification display.

7. Hit “Create Kind Reminder”

And you’re done! Your new reminder shows up in the “Your Kind Reminders” list, sorted by date and time.

Things you might be wondering

Can I use this in 12-hour format instead of 24?

Yes—there’s a toggle right below the clock labeled “Time Format.” Click it to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour views.

What happens when a reminder goes off?

A warm, styled pop-up appears with your title, message, and any extra touches you enabled. If you allowed browser notifications, it’ll also send one directly to your device. You can dismiss it, snooze it for 15 minutes, or take a moment to reflect by writing a quick journal-style note.

What if I forget to set a future time?

If you try to save a one-time reminder for a past date, the tool will stop you. This keeps reminders timely and prevents confusion.

Can I delete or update reminders?

You can delete any reminder right from the list. For now, edits require deleting and recreating the reminder with your changes.

Where does my data go?

Everything stays in your browser—this tool doesn’t sync with external accounts or store data online. Refreshing the page may clear reminders unless the tool’s saved state is enhanced behind the scenes in a later version.

Bring more care into your calendar

The Kind Reminder tool isn’t about pushing you harder—it’s about giving yourself space to pause, recharge, and feel seen. A simple nudge with kind intent can go a long way toward keeping your routine humane and your mind in a better place. Whether it’s once a week or a few times a day, these gentle reminders can help you stay grounded without the pressure.
