Mawlid al-Nabi is the observance of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the 'Final Brick' in the building of Prophethood and a 'Mercy to the Worlds' (Quran 21:107).

Narratif historique

Born in the 'Year of the Elephant' (570 CE) in Makkah, his birth was accompanied by miracles, such as the lighting of the palaces of Busra. He was born an orphan, raised by the desert winds, and grew to be 'Al-Amin' (The Trustworthy) before receiving revelation at age 40.

Signification spirituelle

The Mawlid is a prime opportunity for 'Mahabbah' (Love). Love for the Prophet is a core component of Iman (Faith). Allah says: 'Say, [O Muhammad], If you should love Allah, then follow me...' (3:31).
