Time.Now OpenClaw Skill
Give OpenClaw agents accurate current time, UTC offsets, daylight-saving status, IANA timezone search, and IP-based timezone lookup through the free Time. Now API.
Use the skill when an agent needs live world-time data instead of relying on its model knowledge or the machine's local clock. No Time. Now account or API key is required.
Install the OpenClaw skill
The Time. Now skill is prepared for ClawHub. Its one-command registry installation will become available after the publisher completes ClawHub's one-time GitHub authorization:
openclaw skills install @chrisyau83/time-now
Until the registry listing is published, download the complete Time. Now SKILL.md above for inspection or local installation.
What the skill can do
- Get current local time for any supported IANA timezone.
- Return UTC time, UTC offset, abbreviation, Unix time, and calendar fields.
- Report daylight-saving status and offset.
- Search the complete supported timezone list.
- Resolve an explicit public IP address to its timezone and current time.
Time. Now endpoints used by the skill
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
/developer/api/time | Current time for an IANA timezone supplied in the timezone query parameter. |
/developer/api/timezone | Complete list of supported IANA timezone identifiers. |
/developer/api/ip | Timezone and local time for the requesting machine's public IP. |
/developer/api/ip/<address> | Timezone and local time for an explicit public IP address. |
/developer/api/health | API availability and contract version. |
For the complete response schema and examples, see the Time. Now World Time API documentation.
Security and privacy
The skill contains instructions only. It installs no executable code, requests no credentials, and calls only Time. Now's public read-only HTTPS endpoints. It also instructs agents to validate IP addresses, URL-encode timezone input, and never send secrets or personal data.
For native tool calling over Model Context Protocol, use the Time. Now MCP server. For terminal use, install the Time. Now CLI.
